JMTA General Meeting
President’s Pen HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! To Music: Roses are red violets are blue music is sweet that’s why we love you. What a fun time we had at the District Meeting “Open Mic” program! Thank you to those who participated and to Jack Melvin for hosting us. I am already brain storming the possibilities for next year’s performance. Congratulations to the new District Board! We appreciate the hard work of the previous board and wish the new board well. At our February 14th meeting, we will hear Dr. Jonathan Reed as he presents “Musical Interpolation: filling in musical gaps with student creativity.” This is a great opportunity to learn how to help our students be creative. Creativity develops ownership in the music and can increase interest. Remember the coming District Concerto Competition, Student Day and JMTA student recital. We are blessed to be able to offer our students such a variety of musical experiences. We are in need of two committee chairpeople:
Come to the monthly meetings and learn not only from the program presenters but also from each other, plus the food and fellowship are great. Blessings, Dr. Sandra Roberts JMTA President ________________________________________________________________________ District 4 General Meeting Wednesday, January 10, 2018 Keyboard Connection Members Present:

Let’s have a music exchange! Bring your unwanted music to any JMTA meeting. Bring home something new to you! Look for the “Free Music” spot. Music does not have to be brand new. ________________________________________________________________________ Need a Sponsor? Does anyone in the JMTA need a sponsor or need help in any way? If so, John Scott, owner of Great Scott Music School, is interested in helping our organization. If interested, contact John at [email protected] ________________________________________________________________________ Check out those shoulder pads! We’ve had lots of pictures taken over the years. We have some dating back to the 80s! All of our photos and scrapbook pages have been digitally scanned and are available for viewing anytime on the archive page of the state website, fmta.org. All of the physical copies of the old pictures and scrapbooks will be put out for you to take at the next several meetings. Please take a look and keep any pictures you like. Whatever is left will be thrown away. ________________________________________________________________________ Have you found us on Facebook?
