President’s Pen
Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year and JMTA year of events. Our first meeting will be September 12th at 9:30 am at Keyboard Connection. The program is “Your Favorite Holiday Teaching Repertoire and Recipes.” Please bring four of your favorite holiday teaching pieces (solos or duets) plus a favorite treat with the recipe. Anita says we can “munch and play!” This sounds like so much fun. You won’t want to miss it.

Our Multi-Piano Festival of November is postponed indefinitely due to serious problems. Lindsay also resigned as Multi-Piano Festival Chairperson. We need to regroup in order to have this Festival. We are also in need of a recording secretary. If any of you would help in either of these areas, please let me know.
Anita has such outstanding programs arranged for this school year. Be sure to attend each monthly meeting for the information and the fellowship.

Remember, music makes a happy heart. See you at Keyboard Connection on September 12th.

Blessings,
Dr. Sandra Roberts
JMTA President

Treasurer Needed
This spring will be nominating and election time for the new set of board members. Board members are installed in May, and serve a term of two years. They may be re-elected for a second term.

A hard position to fill is Treasurer. Lorraine Eaton is on her second term as Treasurer, so we need someone willing to be nominated for the role. It is not very time consuming, about 2 hours of time per month. Yes, there is a lot of bookkeeping to keep up with, but there are also detailed notes in the Manual of Procedures on how to accomplish all this. You would just need to stay organized and on top of it. Please consider taking on this position for the coming term. If you have any more detailed questions on what the position entails, please contact Lorraine. You would also be trained on how to do everything before it just being handed over to you.

This is an important position in our organization, and we need each and every member to help out so JMTA can run smoothly.

Need a Sponsor?
Does anyone in the JMTA need a sponsor or need help in any way? If so, John Scott, owner of Great Scott Music School, is interested in helping our organization. If interested, contact John at greatscottmusicacademy@gmail.com

Music Exchange
Do you have too much music collected in your studio? Is there some you think you’ll never use? Let’s have a music exchange! Bring your unwanted music to any JMTA meeting. Bring home something new to you! Look for the “Free Music” spot. Music does not have to be brand new.
