Dr. Sandra Stewart- Programs Chair ________________________________________________________________________ President’s Pen March has come, along with the time for me to announce I will be resigning as JMTA President at the end of this fiscal year. It has been my pleasure to be an active member of JMTA since 2004 and an MTNA member since 1976. During those years, I have enjoyed meeting and working with many JMTA members and hearing the development of the musical students of our teacher members. Since my husband retired last summer, our plan has been to travel starting in the summer of 2016 and see where our next mission takes us. The procedure for continued leadership in JMTA will include nominees for President being announced by the Nominating committee at the March JMTA meeting, an election for a President to serve a one-year term taking place in the month of April at the JMTA meeting and installation of that President at the May JMTA meeting. Transfer of leadership will be completed by the end of June. I know that the membership will be there to support the next President assuring that the many programs JMTA provides for teachers and students will continue to flourish. I look forward to seeing you at the March JMTA meeting and the program that will follow as well as at other JMTA events during the next few months.
